  1. 2012–2013

    A company for international races

    Fjords Cycling was founded in November 2012 by Stavanger Sykleklubb and Nordsjørittet AS. Tour des Fjords followed the next year, building on the Rogaland Grand Prix. The clubs are part of the company's foundation, not only contributors to the event.

  2. 2018–2019

    New formats. Shared experience.

    Hammer Stavanger was held in 2018. The following year, Tour des Fjords and Tour of Norway came together. Roy Hegreberg and Birger Hungerholdt represented two organising teams that would now build on their experience together. Fjords Cycling is not just taking on a name, but a responsibility to carry both stories on.

  3. 2022

    From race day to year-round work

    Fjords Cycling becomes a co-owner of the development team, which will later be named Team Drali–Repsol. It adds team operations to the organisation’s event experience. In the same year, the company becomes a co-owner of Norway Bike Experience, where cycling tours and tourism are the starting point.

  4. From 2025

    Continuing Nordsjørittet

    Fjords Cycling took responsibility for operating Nordsjørittet. Dalane, Nærbø and Sandnes retain ownership. It is a new role for Fjords Cycling, but a continuation of a long work by the clubs, enthusiasts and volunteers.

  5. 2026

    More experience joins the organisation

    Alexander Kristoff took over as race director for the Tour of Norway from 1 June. John Hauge, who developed Lavterskel, also moved from a half-time to a full-time position. Elite sport and everyday activity each get their own specific resources, with event experience as a common basis.

  6. Today

    Experience across different needs

    A team, a recreational race and a digital race platform solve different needs. Collectively, the projects show the breadth of the environment: from logistics and execution to communication, participant understanding and collaboration. When a new task comes in, it is this experience that we build on - not just the list of completed services.
